Branding in 6 Easy Steps

Your brand is essentially the identity you choose to give your business. It reflects the key messages you want to communicate to your customers. You’re aim is to create an easily recognisable and memorable brand to gain more customers.

Branding is not a simple case of going to a graphic artist and asking them to draw you a logo that you like the look of. You need to think carefully about some fundamentals of your business. Then you will need to make some strategic decisions that drive and focus the identity you want to create.

You need to have a good idea of what your strategy. From here you need to be able to communicate this clearly to the person designing your brand identity.

Get Started

Use the following, well defined and tested process, to assist you in developing your brand. If you have an existing brand, use this same process to assess whether it is doing the job you need it to.

Define.

Understand where your business is currently positioned in your chosen market.

Decide.

Identify and decide the best branding strategy for your business and highlight any gaps that exist between your current brand and your intended brand.

Design.

Agree on a final design that communicates your intended brand strategy effectively to your target market.

Develop.

Take your chosen design and prepare the documentation.

Do.

Ensure that the new brand is established and embedded in the minds of all stakeholders in your business

Direct.

Ensure the continuous and consistent management of the brand.
