We enjoy attending the Wellington Business Expo each year. Throughout the years we’ve kept an eye on what each stand does to figure out what works and what doesn’t work. We share our insider tips so you can gain more leads at this year’s Wellington Business Expo.
1. Invite all your network to come and visit you
Include your customers, your suppliers, your channels and your friends. Tell them the great things you will be displaying and why they should visit you. To get an even better response from this, encourage them to bring a friend to your stand.
2. Put together an attractive offer
Before you immediately think to offer a discount, think outside the box. Ask yourself:
- What would new customer would find useful?
- What would add value to their purchase?
- How might they use what they buy from you?
3. Set up your stand so it is easy for people to stop and talk to you.
Can you provide coffee, food, animals or some unusual attraction?
4. What you can give away?
Hopefully something visible they can take away from your stand and remember you by. Maybe a branded gift with your contact details on it or some information that they will find useful.
We’re going to be in a stadium, so what’s your game plan? Write a clear outline for what you want to achieve by attending the show and who you want to attract. Better yet, treat this as a campaign and write yourself a brief for the promotion. This will help you plan exactly what you’re going to do and show on your stand. Include your goals for going to help you focus on meeting them. Some examples include:
- concrete leads to follow up on
- researching the competition
- increasing brand awareness
- building your database
Bonus tip: Follow Up!
